A well-established, Insurance broker is seeking a Finance Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy finance function during a period of continued growth and transformation.
You’ll play a key role in supporting accounts payable processes, monthly reporting, and financial accounting tasks across multiple entities. The role also involves preparing reconciliations, assisting with audits, and contributing to ongoing process improvements within the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
• Support completion of balance sheet reconciliations for group entities.
• Assist with purchase ledger tasks, including invoice processing and BACS payments.
• Support the month-end and year-end processes, including preparation of audit responses.
• Maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Contribute to ad hoc project work and due diligence reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant financial regulations.
• Promote company values and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Studying towards AAT (desirable but not essential).
• Experience working in a finance team, ideally within a professional or financial services environment.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
• Confident communicator with a proactive and collaborative approach.
