We are currently partnering with a Market-Leading Insurer to recruit a Senior Data Scientist on a permanent basis. The role will include joining our new Data Science & AI Centre of Excellence, developing innovative digital products using Python and Azure Machine Learning. Based in London with hybrid working, you'll collaborate with actuaries, brokers, and product teams to deliver data-driven solutions that create real value for client insurers. Key Responsibilities: • Document all business processes in line with company methodology, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and an up-to-date process landscape to support continuous improvement. • Identify and prioritise opportunities for digitalisation, automation, or waste reduction in front-office processes, balancing impact and effort for maximum value. • Lead cross-departmental process improvement initiatives with a focus on automation, risk reduction, and optimal task alignment across teams. • Gather and manage business requirements for digital solutions, working closely with IT to support development, testing, and successful deployment. • Assess process control effectiveness, agree on action plans, and implement monitoring mechanisms to manage and reduce process-related risks. • Manage process improvement projects involving internal teams and outsourced partners, ensuring clear documentation, strong communication, and support for good Conduct and customer-focused outcomes. The Ideal Candidate: • Demonstrated experience delivering impactful data science solutions in a senior role. • Proficient in Python with hands-on experience using Azure Machine Learning tools and environments. • Solid knowledge of both traditional machine learning models and modern deep learning approaches. • Commercially minded, with a strong interest in risk analytics and the reinsurance sector. • Skilled in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communicating complex ideas clearly. • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
