We are currently partnering with a Market Leading Lloyd’s Syndicate to recruit a Senior Data Engineer. The successful candidate will be accountable for driving the implementation of the data strategy, guided by the strategic direction of the Data Steering Group, through iterative technical delivery of a cutting-edge data platform solution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Facilitate implementation of the data strategy under the Data Steering Group’s guidance. • Deliver a modern data platform to improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility. • Enable enhanced data-driven business insights through the platform. • Leverage digitalisation and automation to increase resource and process efficiency. • Contribute to designing and building a data platform capable of handling large, complex datasets. • Design Data Lake, Data Warehouse solutions, and data models (Data Vault and Dimensional). • Develop automated, reusable batch and streaming data pipelines. • Collaborate with Governance, Quality, and data specialists to optimise metadata, lineage, data presentation, and compliance with personal/sensitive data handling. The ideal candidate should have: • The ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders from across the organisation, working together to deliver business-driven solutions • Strong expertise in relational databases and advanced SQL for data querying and management. • Skilled in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for building data pipelines and automating workflows. • Experienced in applying DevOps practices within Agile development environments. • Proficient in implementing data transformations and workflow automation across complex data systems.
