This role will support the Group Finance function, working closely with senior finance leadership to produce consolidated financial results, support individual entity reporting, and strengthen the Group’s financial control environment. The position will report directly to the Group Head of Finance and will play a key role in the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of consolidation processes and financial reporting controls. Key Responsibilities • Support the Group Head of Finance in the production of the Group consolidation and associated stakeholder reporting. • Continuously challenge the assumptions and inputs used in the Group consolidation process to ensure accuracy and integrity. • Stay current with the latest accounting guidance and evolving reporting standards (UK GAAP and IFRS) relevant to both Group and local reporting requirements. • Lead and oversee the preparation of quarterly management accounts for the UK insurance entities. • Support the transition of statutory accounts production for Group subsidiaries to internal teams. • Act as the primary contact for external auditors during the Group and solo entity audit processes. • Design, document, and implement key financial controls for both consolidation and standalone entities. • Collaborate with the Group Head of FP&A and Group Head of Finance to enhance actual vs. budget reporting and financial analysis. • Work closely with outsourced partners to gather, validate, and consolidate financial data across the Group and individual entities. • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with finance and business stakeholders at all levels across the organisation. Skills & Experience • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent). • Proven experience in financial consolidations and reporting across multiple jurisdictions. • Strong technical understanding of statutory accounts preparation under UK GAAP and IFRS. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders. • Confident in challenging assumptions and influencing senior stakeholders through evidence-based insights. • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain effective financial controls. • Experience using consolidation or regulatory reporting systems (e.g. FS Assist) is an advantage.
