We are seeking an experienced claims professional with knowledge of handling complex US Property Binder claims in the London insurance market. The individual will proactively adjust complex claims from their initial notification through settlement. They will need to act as a subject matter expert for the portfolio, be a point of referral and guidance for claims colleagues, and collaborate closely with the underwriting team. • Determine the validity, accuracy and extent of coverage, liability and quantum positions. • Drive the resolution of claims, including complex files, which may involve attendance at arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials (as necessary). • Ensure that adequate financial provisions are maintained and reported appropriately for all claims. • Proactive management of recovery, subrogation or salvage opportunities. • Provide excellent customer service to insured clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders (including but not limited to actuarial, underwriters, outwards reinsurance and finance). Responsibility for identifying trends across a portfolio/class of business. • Proactive and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders (including but not limited to brokers, insureds or reinsureds, DCAs (delegated claims administrators)), both in writing and verbally. • Provide high quality reporting of individual claims (which may include complex claims) and events. • Developed an advanced understanding of the market including the applicable regulatory context. • Manage relationships with DCAs, external service providers and legal advisers in accordance with contractual requirements and regulatory obligations, to facilitate the effective resolution of claims. • Escalate issues and areas of concern and manage issues to resolution with assistance. • Provide support to the claims capability in relation to management of claims and/or project work.
