A new role as Head of Strategic Management for a market leading insurer provider. Key Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: Underwriting strategy • Partner with business leaders in setting strategic business plans that company aggregate portfolio is optimized and delivers our stated aims • Ensures the achievement of our underwriting strategies through effective monitoring and reporting through all stages of the strategic planning and implementation life-cycle • Develops framework and cadence for reviews of UW strategies to ensure the achievement of our aggregate profitability and/or growth objectives. Reporting: • Will provide SME technical data, information and advice to underwriting working closely with Actuarial, Claims, ,Finance, Data Analytics and other departments. • Will provide proactive clear and accurate reporting to the CEO across all areas of the business as required ensuring data is presented in a comprehensive and holistic view to enable business decisions, • Monitors and reports on profitability and growth of product lines and segments Operational management • Will assist the CEO in the effective running of the Underwriting Committee • Partners with senior leaders to monitor, analyze, and manage the strategic and operational plans • Will play a critical role in ensuring key initiatives and investments are delivered across underwriting with KPI measures • Will play a key role in improving underwriting forecasting and accruals process, ensuring data in accurate and process is efficient. • Ensures the achievement of our underwriting strategies through monitoring from implementation through the strategy life-cycle, The Ideal Candidate Should have: • Educated to degree level in a relevant financial analysis subject • Typically a minimum of 15 years related work experience with c.10 years of senior management and insurance industry experience. • Must have experience working in a matrix organisation, preferably with a U.S. parent company and pan European operational experience.
