Edenbrook are recruiting for an FP&A Manager. The role will work closely with the Head of FP&A and other senior actuarial, underwriting and finance personnel to produce planning data for the Managing Agency’s existing third-party syndicate as well as working with the New Business team on prospective new syndicate applications. The planning data will include forecasts both Ultimate and GAAP Forecasts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a point of contact between PMA and its third-party Syndicates on all matters financial planning and analysis relevant to Lloyd’s reporting.
• Assist the New business team with on-boarding new clients and developing submissions as part of the Lloyds “Making it Happen” process.
• Working with the PMA Finance teams, including the PMA-FD and Syndicate FCs to prepare:
• annual planning and quarterly re-forecasting exercises, incorporating Solvency II / Solvency UK requirements
• forecast and planning information for existing clients and the relevant Lloyd’s returns (e.g. Cashflows in the QMA, Ultimates in the QMB, GAAP forecasts in the “Flash”),
• forecast and planning information for new PMA clients seeking permission to underwrite at Lloyd’s.
• Work alongside the Head of FP&A to produce a standardized PMA-GAAP Forecast model that can be used across multiple clients, existing and future.
• Work alongside FCs with Syndicate result’s commentary (plan v actual), Board/Committee reporting, ExCo reporting and Board/Audit Committee documents
• Assist the Risk and Compliance team in preparation of ORSA submissions through provision of P&L forecasts and scenario analysis
The Ideal Candidate:
• Qualified Accountant.
• A critical thinker with the ability to deal with challenge when dealing with senior stakeholders.
• Experience in FP&A including within the Lloyd’s market including knowledge of the relevant Lloyd’s returns.
• Proficient back-end user of financial software (e.g. Anaplan, SUN, PowerBI) and the ability to create tailored reports and dashboards to support the end user.
• Collaborative and cooperative approach to all interactions both within and outside the organisation
• Ability to enforce change and offer appropriate solutions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders of various seniority.
• Needs to be highly organised and deadline focused.
