We are currently partnering with a Market Leading Lloyd’s Insurer to recruit a Cloud Data Architect (Contract). The successful candidate will lead the design and delivery of our cloud-based data architecture, aligning with business goals and compliance. Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, finance, and IT teams to build a data ecosystem that enables real-time insights, predictive and data modelling, and supports AI-driven operational efficiency.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Consult on selecting the optimal cloud storage vendor to meet strategic objectives.
• Design and implement cloud-native data platforms (e.g., data lakes, warehouses) using MS Fabric (Azure) or AWS.
• Architect data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery of structured and unstructured data.
• Ensure data cloud architecture complies with governance, security, and regulatory frameworks including FCA, Lloyd’s, and GDPR.
• Collaborate with underwriting, claims, actuarial, and finance teams to enable advanced analytics and machine learning use cases.
• Lead migration planning and execution of legacy data systems to cloud with minimal disruption.
• Evaluate and integrate third-party data sources such as market data and claims feeds.
• Shape the future of our data landscape within an ambitious underwriting environment.
The ideal candidate should have:
• Experienced Data Architect with strong cloud skills (MS Fabric/Azure or AWS), focused on scalable, cost-efficient model design.
• Proficient in Agile and DevOps methodologies for efficient delivery.
• Solid expertise in data modelling, ETL/ELT, and real-time data streaming.
• Knowledgeable in insurance data domains: policy, claims, exposure, reinsurance, bordereaux.
• Strong grasp of data security, compliance, and skilled in SQL, Python, and cloud orchestration tools like AWS Glue and Azure Data Factory.
