We are working with a leading Lloyd’s syndicate seeking an FP&A Manager to join their central finance function. This London-based opportunity is suited for a qualified accountant with strong financial planning and analysis expertise, experience in the Lloyd’s market, and a proven ability to deliver strategic insights and support senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will take ownership of the Group and Syndicate FP&A function, managing all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis. This role will involve leading a team, working closely with underwriting and senior management, and contributing to strategic initiatives through financial modelling, scenario planning, and peer benchmarking. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to step into a senior FP&A leadership role, driving efficiencies, delivering high-quality insights, and playing a pivotal part in shaping the Group’s strategy in a dynamic and evolving market. Responsibilities: • Lead the annual planning and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. • Engage with business stakeholders to challenge assumptions, build business cases, and support scenario modelling. • Deliver accurate analysis and commentary on key performance metrics, including comparison against peers and the market. • Provide quarterly and annual financial performance reviews, covering expenses, premiums, and loss activity. • Partner with the Chief Strategy Officer to produce external market and peer analysis. • Drive improvements in FP&A processes to optimise efficiency and support strategic initiatives. • Lead the preparation of reporting and analysis for Board Sub-Committees. • Develop and manage relationships across underwriting and business groups, supporting decision-making. • Liaise with auditors and ensure compliance with risk control requirements. • Support the Head of Finance on strategic projects, such as optimising the Syndicate Business Plan process and implementing re-forecasting. • Lead and develop the FP&A team, setting objectives and driving performance. Ideal Candidate: • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong FP&A or Finance Business Partnering experience in the Lloyd’s market. • Strong knowledge of insurance technical accounting and reporting standards (UK and US GAAP). • Proven experience managing and developing teams. • Advanced Excel skills with experience in financial modelling tools (Anaplan desirable). • Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce and interpret complex financial information. • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to deliver meaningful MI to senior stakeholders. • Confident communicator with proven ability to influence and build credibility with senior leaders. • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands. • Proactive and strategic mindset with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
