New opportunity with a leading MGA, who are currently seeking a Credit Controller to manage credit control activities, with a strong emphasis on Data reconciliation particularly using MS Excel, and a key focus on bank account reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit control, insurance industry experience, and a track record of successful ledger reconciliation. This role will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our insurance accounts receivable while maintaining strong relationships with clients/brokers and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
• Bank Reconciliation
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in allocation of bank transactions.
• Identification and allocation of funds to Insurance policies to minimise unallocated cash balance
• Complete reconciliation for intercompany transfers.
• Utilise advance excel skills for efficient data and bank reconciliations.
• Insurance Ledger Reconciliation
• Lead the reconciliation of insurance accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and investigate discrepancies in the insurance ledger and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Identify Broker contacts and initiate communication for Broker’s Insurance Ledger Reconciliation.
• Maintain open and effective communication with clients regarding outstanding premiums, payment, and credit terms.
• Resolve client inquiries related to invoices and payments in a timely and professional manner.
• Credit Control Management
• Monitor outstanding insurance premiums and initiate collection efforts when necessary.
• Collaborate with underwriting teams to develop strategies for reducing aged debt.
• Aged debt analysis
• Monitoring and reporting of unallocated cash balance
To be successful in this role, you will need to be/have:
• Education in Finance, Accounting and/or Insurance
• Advance excel skills for data analysis
• Proven experience in credit control within the London Insurance Market / Lloyd’s Syndicate
• Familiarity with MGA partnerships, premium collection, and cash flow processes.
• Understanding of wide range of Insurance and Re-insurance products as well as delegated underwriting authority.
• Strong knowledge of insurance premium billing processes, bank reconciliation procedures, and accounting principles.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
