Claims Associate Brighton – Flexible hybrid working from home £23,500 + benefits A brand new opportunity has been created for a Claims Associate to join a leading Insurer undergoing significant nationwide growth. Reporting to the Claims Manager, this individual will assist in the adjustment of claims for varying lines of business, engaging with brokers, service providers, policyholders, experts and third parties. In addition, they will contribute towards technical and administrative assistance for Management and the wider Claims Team. This role would be ideal for a recent graduate looking to begin a career in Financial Services, or an individual with Claims or Insurance experience looking for their next career step. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: • Handle claims in line with Claims Guidelines and authority limits and investigate applicable legal and regulatory issues • Development knowledge of the principles of good insurance claims handling and legal practice • Develop a full understanding of company reserving policy and claims handling strategy • Develop understanding of general insurance & reinsurance policy terms and conditions • Develop understanding of claims procedures, reserving philosophy & guidelines & establish practical application through claims adjusting • Effectively communicate with customers, brokers, cedants and claimants • Maintain accurate claims records • Expand knowledge of business systems for processing and reporting • Develop knowledge of market issues and emerging risks • Develop technical knowledge and skills through a combination of formal courses, on-the-job training and pursuance of professional qualifications • Shadow the Claims Adjusters and Managers on complex claims • Undertake ad hoc and project work as requested or required • Provide assistance and support for any Solvency II related activities You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience: • Excellent numerical, mathematical and writing skills • An ability to compile reports and analyse data – in Excel and word • Planning and implementation • Communication and interpersonal skills • Decision Making • Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook
