Business Interruption Specialist London £ - negotiable depending on experience Working for a top specialist UK insurer, are looking for a Business Interruption Specialist. Reporting to the Claims Director, this individual will have experience with Business Interruption Claims across multiple jurisdictions including the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and Europe. Working closely within the Claims, Underwriting, Finance, IT and Products teams to deliver a high-quality claims service to policyholders, brokers, underwriters and capacity providers, whilst being subject to all relevant legal and statutory (including FCA and Lloyd’s) requirements and obligations. This role would be ideal for someone with a forensic accounting background looking to begin a career in insurance to enable the company to look into claims and the losses without having to use an external company. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities • Calculating complex business interruption claims. • Supporting clients immediately post loss occurrence. • Attending/leading claims meetings with clients, insurers and legal representatives. • Challenging insurers, loss adjusters and experts to ensure clients achieve the best possible outcomes. • Working with company producers to enable them to present structured claims consultancy fee proposals to clients. • Supporting the company Regional Claims Team and wider claims community with advice and training regarding technical issues on PDBI related topics. You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience: • Applicants must have an established technical skill set in the field of BI claims, policy wordings and coverage. • Candidates will be highly proficient in business interruption claims and be familiar with how to put them together and present them to the market so as to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients. • Extensive experience in the calculation of complex/high value business interruption claims. • An understanding of the legal principles and key decisions which underpin BI claims. • An organised and easily understandable approach to the discussion of business interruption claims with clients and internal stakeholders. • A desire to operate with a low level of supervision with responsibility for key aspects of the client relationship, particularly in respect of large loss property damage claims. • At least 3-5 years insurer claims handling experience in the Lloyd’s / London market. • Educated to degree standard - DIP, ACII or legal degree preferred.
