An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Group Financial Oversight (GFO) team of an insurance and reinsurance group that is fully focused on the European market. With about 2,300 employees and over 2 million policyholders with €79 billion of assets under administration, this organisation’s ambition is to grow the business across Europe and are looking for team players to join us on our journey. To oversee, challenge and take an active part in risk management across the function and are responsible for providing internal assurance over its processes. This is a new role as the company looks to re-shape the team and strengthen expertise and capability, in particular around the approach of managing Reporting Risk. Key Responsibilities: • Using strong technical knowledge challenge risks and controls from an end to end perspective whilst incorporating knowledge of insurance, financial and regulatory reporting in order to strengthen the control environment. • Co-ordinate and plan risk and control assessments concerning key policies and procedures, mapping of key processes and controls, oversee control testing, remediation actions, and provide guidance around the control environment to company’s Finance organisation and key stakeholders. • As a senior member of the Group Finance team, act as an ambassador, actively participate in driving and supporting the management agenda on purpose, priorities, people and engagement. Functional, Technical Knowledge and Skill Required: • Professional (or equivalent) qualification in related field (e.g. actuarial) with in-depth specialist risk capabilities, knowledge and financial acumen. • Extensive knowledge and best practice of risk management as it relates to insurance and reinsurance. • Strong understanding of IFRS and insurance regulatory regimes including Solvency II and risk requirements. • Risk and controls design, delivery, testing and management experience, ideally in a SOx type environment.
