Role Overview A senior aviation underwriting professional is sought to support the continued growth of a specialist insurance provider in a cutting-edge and emerging industry. The role focuses on managing the underwriting process for niche insurance products and contributing to strategic business initiatives. Key Responsibilities Underwriting Operations • Manage end-to-end underwriting processes for specialized insurance lines. • Support junior underwriters with quote assessments and technical evaluations. • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with underwriting controls and delegated authority requirements. • Liaise with brokers to align coverage terms and ensure all submissions are correctly logged and processed. Stakeholder Engagement • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, capacity providers, and internal departments such as finance. • Contribute to business development by identifying and acting on new opportunities with both new and existing partners. • Support policy administration from inception to renewal, including payment coordination. Reporting and Analysis • Deliver regular underwriting reports for leadership and board-level review. • Produce management information (MI) on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. • Provide ad hoc analysis on underwriting trends and developments. Qualifications and Skills • Strong commercial and technical underwriting experience, preferably within the Lloyd’s market. • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic decisions. • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. • High numeracy and deep understanding of risk pricing and rate adequacy. • Professional qualifications such as ACII are desirable; a numerical degree is advantageous but not essential.
