Edenbrook are currently recruiting a Risk Manager, for a rapidly growing leading independent Reinsurance Group. The individual will assist the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) with the activities of the Risk Function, providing a second line of defence oversight of the business to support the effective management of risk and to meet stakeholder expectations, including those of regulators. Key Responsibilities will include but are not limited to • Develop and implement the company's risk management framework • Provide risk information and ensure the functions adheres to the risk management framework and risk appetite. • Stakeholder management, to question strategy and development ensuring the risk profile is understood and appropriately mitigated. • Liaise with a range of stakeholders across the business to gather, assess and report key risk information • Review and monitoring of risk appetite to ensure risk is maintained within acceptable tolerances. • Lead on areas of development and complete processes as part of the ERM Framework. • Contribute to appropriate risk management information being provided through the governance structure to the Board and its committees. • Support Risk Management training and the embedding of Risk Culture throughout the business. • Ensuring the risk function are central within processes/ projects to enable earlier influence and ensure adequate risk culture and risk-considered decision-making. The ideal candidate should have • Strong analytical and qualitative risk management skills (related qualifications would be viewed as a positive). • Good knowledge of underwriting processes and insurance products. • Experience in reviewing processes and conducting assessments against pre-agreed criteria. • Experience and ability to question and influence senior management/ decision-makers.
