The Opportunity We are seeking a proactive and strategic leader to join a high-profile legacy insurance team focused on driving capital efficiency through the acquisition, management, and disposal of insurance portfolios. This is a rare opportunity to work on market-leading transactions that have a direct impact on shareholder value and long-term business strategy. The team operates globally, working closely with business units across multiple regions to deliver long-term reinsurance solutions or legal transfers of legacy portfolios. This role offers the chance to operate in a commercially strategic, fast-paced environment with exposure to senior stakeholders and decision-makers. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design and execution of exit strategies for legacy portfolios, from due diligence through to post-transaction integration. • Analyse and segment portfolio data to highlight embedded value and commercial opportunities. • Build and maintain relationships with buyers, reinsurers, advisors, and key internal stakeholders. • Manage internal approval processes, including preparation of high-quality business case presentations. • Coordinate cross-functional teams across underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, and legal to ensure operational effectiveness pre-exit. • Oversee the preparation of transaction materials, such as information memoranda and data rooms. • Support contract negotiation and regulatory approval processes. • Lead communication, separation, and transition planning for exiting portfolios. What We’re Looking For: • Strong experience in mergers and acquisitions within financial services, or a background in technical insurance roles with exposure to transaction processes. • Insurance finance and accounting knowledge, particularly in reinsurance or portfolio transfers. • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills. • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with a proven ability to present complex information clearly and effectively. Preferred: • Experience in the legacy insurance or run-off market. • Background in underwriting, claims, actuarial, or related insurance functions. • Exposure to international business operations. • Relevant professional qualifications are advantageous. • Additional language skills are a plus.
