A completely unique and exciting opportunity has arisen with an insurance business based in the city. This is a fantastic role for an individual with a strong financial background looking for a different/alternative career path to apply experience in a M&A Underwriting commercial role.
In the role you will be the M&A specialist in all areas of financial matters, this would involve completing the strong legal background of the existing underwriters and assist in the review of financial due diligence done by transaction advisers and buyers from a commercial and risk perspective as well as being consulted on claims related to accounting matters.
The scope of this role would be to flourish into a broader M&A underwriting role looking at the wider aspects of M&A transactions.
What to expect;
-- At initial quote/submission stage, consider the accounting and financial risks inherent in the nature of the target business and the likely valuation assumptions/metrics and any impact on whether we quote/on what terms we quote
-- Assessing opportunities including pricing and the core terms of the product to deliver client proposal
-- Underwriting transactions through the cycle of the M&A insurance process, including day to day project management and delivery of M&A insurance solution
-- Actively managing broker/client relationships on transactions
-- Review and assess the adequacy of financial due diligence done by accounting firms and clients on transactions
-- Acting as a point of expertise for colleagues across other offices to discuss financially focused matters
What we need;
-- A strong financial background is essential for this role. This may include an accountancy qualification (ACA or equivalent)
--- Minimum of 5 years of Financial Due Diligence/Transaction Services experience (including M&A/transactional focus),
-- Experience of or good understanding of valuation mechanisms and how identified matters are reflected
-- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
