New opportunity as a head of investments, whereby you will be responsible for managing the company’s assets, which include a fixed income portfolio in both regulated and non-regulated accounts. You will be expected to optimise the performance of the investment portfolio, working in line with the Group investment strategy. The role will drive the design, implementation and operating effectiveness of Investment policies, processes, controls and reporting in accordance with the Company’s risks framework. The successful candidate will ensure preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual Investment reporting to internal management and external reporting. The role will be expected to manage investment operations, with constant interaction with portfolio managers, custodian and senior internal stakeholders across the group. Key responsibilities & Accountabilities • Keeping up to date with the market, assessing possible investment opportunities, and delivering proposals to management. • Working with the external investment managers and Group investment team to ensure that the portfolio optimises its return in line with the Groups strategy and guidelines. • Primary contact with third party investment managers and accountants. • Recording of investment income and assets in line with local GAAP requirements. • Ensuring the relevant controls are implemented and complied with, internally and externally. • Development of risk analytics of the investment portfolio in accordance with the Groups strategy and managements guidelines. • Monthly reporting to the finance committee, monitoring performance of the portfolio and compliance of Group guidelines. • Member of the Investment committee • Involvement in the annual ratings review, which includes working closely with internal capital modelling and ERM. • Weekly monitoring of investments including analysis of maturities, sales, purchases and income. • All investment related forecasts including income and quarterly corridor tests. • Ensuring Lloyds regulatory returns are populated correctly (including the Quarterly Asset Declaration (QAD), Annual Asset Declaration (AAD), NAIC and QMA). • Involvement in annual accounts preparation and Coming into Line and distribution processes. • Liaising with the custodians / investment managers in order to ensure sufficient funding for the quarterly Situs exercises (both in US$ & CD$). This will also involve transacting the stock transfers on the custodian’s software. • Ad hoc investment reporting / information requests and project work. • Policies and procedures are kept up to date. Skills & Qualifications: • Over five years of investment experience within the Lloyds market • Strong Excel / IT skills • Attention to detail with a focus on meeting deadlines. • A strong team player who is able to coordinate with all levels. • Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting at all levels • Excellent knowledge of financial processes and controls • Qualified accountant or equivalent investment qualification
