Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Group Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in managing financial reporting, systems, and controls across the Group. You will oversee the delivery of accurate and timely financial information, lead a high-performing team, and act as a key liaison between the Group and its parent company to ensure alignment of reporting standards, transformation initiatives, and governance. Key Responsibilities • Provide leadership and direction to the Group and Corporate Finance teams, ensuring the integrity of financials across all legal entities in the UK and overseas. • Manage and enhance financial processes, systems, and controls, embedding best practice and efficiency across the finance function. • Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements and coordinate statutory and regulatory reporting. • Oversee relationships with external and internal auditors, preparing technical accounting papers as required. • Act as the primary interface between the parent company and Group Finance, managing reporting requirements and change projects. • Partner with Finance Operations to deliver system and process enhancements, including automation and ERP developments. • Represent the organisation in general ledger review and data management initiatives, ensuring robust governance and delivery discipline. • Support the wider finance team and broader business in the delivery of ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives. Requirements • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a senior finance role within the insurance or financial services sector. • Proven experience preparing consolidated financial statements and working with complex group structures. • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory frameworks; exposure to IFRS 17 desirable. • Demonstrated experience in leading finance transformation projects and managing high-performing teams. • Advanced data analysis and interpretation skills, with proficiency in major ERP or GL systems (e.g. SUN, Oracle, or similar). • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
