Edenbrook are recruiting for a Group Accountant to support timely and accurate statutory reporting, internal management accounts, and financial operations across a portfolio of group entities. This role involves full ownership of assigned legal entities, contributing to both external and internal reporting processes. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the month-end close for designated entities. • Perform reconciliations including balance sheet, intercompany, and bank accounts. • Assist in the preparation of management accounts and budgeting processes. • Manage invoicing, including supplier payments and customer billing. • Own the preparation and review of statutory financial statements to ensure compliance with applicable standards. • Support regulatory reporting, including external submissions and internal risk reporting. • Prepare monthly cash flow statements and assist in lender and treasury reporting. • Provide audit support, ensuring timely resolution of auditor queries. • Identify opportunities to enhance processes through automation and system improvements. • Support ad hoc finance projects and cross-functional initiatives. Key Competencies: • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. • Ability to plan, prioritise, and meet deadlines under pressure. • Proactive in solving problems and improving processes. • Confident communicator, able to engage stakeholders and present financial information clearly. Qualifications: • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or nearly qualified. Knowledge: • Strong understanding of accounting standards (essential). • Awareness of regulatory principles and reporting requirements (essential). • Familiarity with accounting IT systems. • Intermediate Excel skills. • Knowledge of the insurance industry (desirable). Experience: • Experience in a similar financial accounting role is essential.
