We are working with a client who has an established reputation in the insurance and financial services sector, operating as part of a wider group with a strong commitment to integrity, professionalism, and collaboration. This position supports the Head of Financial Reporting in managing statutory reporting, financial accounting, and regulatory reporting, with ownership of various group entities. Key Responsibilities • Lead the preparation and delivery of UK GAAP annual reports for group entities, ensuring compliance with relevant rules and minimising audit and control issues. • Manage monthly group reporting processes in close collaboration with FP&A, reviewing results against budgets, prior months, and prior years. • Drive improvements and automation in financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate reconciliations and timely financial close. • Plan and coordinate external audits, acting as the main point of contact for audit firms, and ensure timely resolution of any identified issues. • Lead and develop a small team, ensuring clear objectives, effective performance management, and professional growth. • Prepare financial reports and analyses for management, the board, and other stakeholders, including variance analysis and support for board briefings. • Support the development of accounting policies and procedures in response to changes in standards or regulations, working closely with auditors. Skills & Experience • Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA or equivalent). • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial reporting and accounting. • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and consolidations. • Proven track record in statutory and group reporting. • Experience in leading audits and liaising with external stakeholders. • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience developing and motivating teams. • Highly proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Excel. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders. • High levels of integrity, professionalism, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
