Primary Responsibilities: -Lead the quarterly risk review (QRR) and top risk review processes with key function leaders and control owners. -Draft and contribute to regular risk reports to Boards, Committees, and Management, including syndicate and MGA risk reports. -Monitor and develop the risk appetite framework for active Lloyd’s syndicates. -Coordinate the impact of business and operational activity on syndicate risk registers, working with Compliance, Internal Audit, and SOX stakeholders. -Take the lead on syndicate-related risk incident responses. -Develop a working understanding of new risks and controls. -Facilitate the use of the new GRC system to support the risk register -Manage daily activities of Risk Team members (currently one Risk Analyst). Support Responsibilities: -Support ESG and Climate Change Risk compliance efforts. -Assist the CRO in chairing the Insurance Risk and Exposure Committee (IREC), ensuring strong oversight over Exposure Management, Capital, and Pricing functions. -Collaborate with business leaders to identify and manage Emerging Risks. -Maintain the Risk Governance Framework, including annual reviews of policies and procedures. -Develop and deliver risk training as needed. -Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external risk functions. -Support the maintenance and relevance of wind-down (resolution) plans. Skills & Experience -University degree (preferably in Mathematics, Science, or Economics); advanced degree or relevant professional qualifications preferred. -Strong academic background with proven mathematical and analytical skills. -Minimum 7 years of experience in Insurance Risk (Risk Management, External/Internal Audit); broader insurance experience is a plus. -Experience managing outsourcing risks. -Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI. -Experience interacting with financial regulators across multiple jurisdictions (e.g., PRA, FCA, CBI, BMA). -Critical thinker with the ability to interrogate data and challenge assumptions. -Ability to manage detailed tasks while maintaining a strategic view of enterprise risk. -Strong multitasking and prioritization skills, especially during high-pressure periods.
