Reinsurance Accountant London £60,000 Finance A leading Global Insurance and Reinsurance company are looking for a Reinsurance Accountant to join their growing team. The Reinsurance Accountant will report to the Head of Financial Accounting, Reporting, The role has responsibility for recording all Reinsurance accounting activities, ensuring that robust control, and reconciliation processes are in place and participating in the development and automation of reinsurance accounting processes. Finance Operations: • Reconciliation and posting of ceded premiums and incurred claims (paid and outstanding) recoveries to financial ledger (by Legal Entities and Class of Business) • Timely settlement and reconciliation in the financial Ledger of all Reinsurance Deposit Premiums and quarterly Reinsurance Treaty accounts. • Ensure that all Reinsurance accounting information reported on internally • Preparation and processing of Reinsurance accounting Bordereaux (e.g with Broker) • Reconcile reinsurance information held in the financial ledger with information reported or sourced from peripheral systems System: • Develop and maintain reinsurance accounting models (spreadsheets) to capture insurance programme information and ensure that premiums and recoveries can be apportioned as necessary. • Play a key role in integrating peripheral reinsurance systems (XL Pro etc.) into core accounting processes. • Support the FP&A Team in ensuring that they reflect the correct reinsurance data in the Annual Planning and continuous Forecasting process. Experience & skills required: • Qualified accountant with experience in a reinsurance accounting role for an (Re)insurance company. • Experience preparing/reviewing insurance company statutory accounts and SII QRTs. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent Excel skills and numerical skills.
