This role plays a key part in leading the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function across a multi-entity, global insurance intermediary group. You will partner closely with senior leadership to drive strategic financial planning, performance management, and commercial insight across underwriting and broking operations. This role offers significant exposure to growth initiatives, transformation projects, and M&A activity within a fast-scaling, internationally active insurance platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the annual budgeting, rolling forecasting, and long-range planning processes across all business units.
• Develop and maintain robust financial models to support scenario planning, investment appraisal (including technology initiatives and strategic hiring), and strategic decision-making.
• Deliver monthly management information (MI) packs and Board-level reporting with clear, commercially focused commentary.
• Oversee KPI frameworks, variance analysis, and performance reporting for executive leadership, lenders, and investors.
• Standardise and automate financial reporting processes to improve scalability, consistency, and accuracy.
• Partner with underwriting, broking, and operational teams to embed financial insight into business decision-making.
• Develop and lead a team of finance business partners to provide high-quality support to individual business lines.
• Enhance KPI frameworks and deliver actionable financial analysis to support growth and profitability objectives.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities through detailed variance analysis, driving value-added insight.
• Lead and support finance transformation initiatives, including system upgrades, reporting tools, and data visualisation enhancements.
• Promote the adoption of automation and AI-enabled solutions within finance processes.
• Support strategic initiatives including organic growth, joint ventures, and M&A activity where required.
Core Skills and Experience
• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
• Extensive FP&A experience, ideally within an insurance intermediary or MGA environment.
• Proven leadership capability with strong stakeholder management experience.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling expertise; experience with BI and reporting tools is advantageous.
• Experience operating within multi-entity, multi-division structures.
• Demonstrated track record supporting finance transformation and system improvement projects.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and partner with senior leadership.
• Experience in private equity or venture-backed environments is desirable.
• Exposure to M&A and post-acquisition integration is advantageous.
• Proven ability to drive change, improve processes, and enhance financial insight frameworks.
