Working for a leading specialist insurer, underwriting a range of commercial and personal lines risks. Reporting to the Corporate Centre Financial Controller, working alongside a small team, this role will support the production of high quality and robust financial, management and regulatory reporting for corporate entities. Key Responsibilities & accountabilities: • Primary responsibility for maintaining the accounting records of legal entities within Corporate Centre. • Support Monthly/Quarterly/HY/FY close • Prepare Board Reports (Connect)/Reporting packs for close • Prepare Analysis and commentary of Corporate centre activity for senior team • Statutory Accounts preparation for Corporate centre entities • Assisting in providing information for external audit of corporate entities • Preparation and review of Reconciliations. • Quarterly preparation of VAT returns for review by Tax department. • Day to day management and point of contact for outsourced accountants for Portuguese branch. • Provide support for areas within Corporate Centre including bonus accruals & nbsp; recharges, lease accounting, intercompany transactions and settlement. • A point of contact and support to wider finance incl. Treasury, Payments, I/Co & Co. Sec. Qualifications & experience: • (Recently) Qualified Accountant ACA, CIMA, ACCA • IFRS financial reporting experience & Statutory accounts preparation. • Experience within Financial Services, Insurance or multi-national business desirable. • Confident interrogating and interpreting data. • Excellent Stakeholder Management and Communication Skills. • Ability to use own initiative and ability to work both alone and as part of a team • Prior knowledge of Oracle products an advantage • Working knowledge of the standard Microsoft environment & experienced Excel spreadsheet user.
