New First Line Risk Consultant opportunity working with a market leading global insurer. Reporting to the Head of Risk and Regulatory Standards, you will support and partner with the Commercial business in identifying, assessing, mitigating, reporting and monitoring its risk profile in order to achieve its business plan and objectives. Key Accountabilities: • Engage with Commercial business to encourage the challenging of established risk processes, controls, approaches and thinking. • Proactively provide risk advice and support to management. • Raise awareness of risks within the business, recommending and taking forward measures to either remove, mitigate or accept those risks. • Drive the development and embedding of risk appetite through the Commercial business. • Lead development and embedding of KRIs and other relevant risk measures. • Provide impactful and structured risk/ controls insight to senior management. • Support the development of effective governance. • Support delivery of cross functional risk initiatives. • Support business in ensuring risks and controls are considered in change activity. • Work collaboratively and in alignment with other 1st line risk functions. • Develop and maintain own risk management capabilities and understanding. Skills and Experience: • Understands the operations and risks of a general insurance company. • Experience working in either a Risk or Internal Audit function.
