New exciting opportunity based in Luxembourg as a Finance Director working for a lead global insurer, reporting to the General Manager Luxembourg. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Finance for the companies European division. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: • Work closely with the General Manager in delivery of the business plan in alignment with the overall business plan and strategy • Ensure Finance processes and procedures are aligned with the Finance team and the financial target operating model, including the risk and governance framework • Drive business performance management by providing and analysing management information • Work closely with the Finance team in the maintenance and preparation of the company accounts • Prepare, maintain and apply accounting policies in accordance with current European accounting standards • Oversee financial reporting (regulatory & statutory) and manage close working relationships with the regulator • Work with the Tax team to ensure tax requirements in each country are being met • Work with the Treasury team to ensure effective oversight of cash and investment management activities • Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements • Manage the Finance team based in continental Europe including the premium collection team • Work with the General Manager and CFO as appropriate on various Group projects and commercial and strategic matters • Participate in Company Boards and Committees and Group Committees and Forums • Manage costs effectively against agreed budget within function • May perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements: • Minimum 5-8 years progressive Finance experience including: • Technical knowledge of accounting practices • In depth financial management experience • Practical understanding of underwriting risk, disciplines and processes • Recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA/ACCA/Réviseur d’Entreprises) or equivalent • An actuarial qualification would be an asset • Requirement to speak fluent English & French
