As a Development Underwriter you will have a focus on underwriting existing business for Commercial policies, playing a senior role within the team from a technical perspective and mentoring more junior colleagues. The role will offer a great platform to allow you to progress your career within the business and open pathways for you. - Working towards set targets each month including profitability, conversion and productivity - Dealing with larger and more complex technical referrals and risks - Providing mentoring and coaching to less experienced underwriters - Monitoring the overall performance of the book and ensuring remedial action is taken to correct any performance issues - Writing a minimum amount of GWP of business each year, as agreed with the line manager Must Have: - The ability to demonstrate effective negotiation with all levels and types of broker, and experience of having dealt with non-standard risks effectively - Demonstrable drive and energy to move self and business forward - ACII qualification or close to completion - Strong market and competitor knowledge
