This role is responsible for the overall management and reconciliation of the underwriting financial ledgers and for leading the team supporting this. The role is critical in ensuring that the books and records of the “Underwriting Entities” (incorporating managed Syndicates, Reinsurance and Service Company entities) are maintained in an accurate and efficient manner and that the balance sheet position is understood and justified. The person must also continually assess and drive improvement to the underlying processes that support data flows into the general ledger working closely with cross functional parties. The incumbent will also assist in the production and review of regulatory returns and work closely with the Regulatory Reporting team and Underwriting Accounting team. Education, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:  A positive and flexible approach to working with a team  Qualified accountant preferred  A knowledge of Great Plains general ledger is useful but not essential  Educated to a good overall standard, with good pass grades in relevant subject  Insurance and syndicate accounting knowledge beneficia  Experience of process and system development  Excellent numeric and analytical skills, with good attention to detail  Good commercial awareness  Effective prioritisation and organisational skill  Good interpersonal and communication skill
