I am currently supporting a Global Specialty Insurer on a Underwriting Controls Manager hire. Role Responsibilities Own and maintain the underwriting controls framework, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, Lloyd’s Oversight Principles, internal policies and market best practice. Own key underwriting policies and documentation, including Underwriting Policies and Procedures, Underwriting Guidelines, Pricing Policy and Procedures, Independent Review Policy and Underwriting Letters of Authority. Lead underwriting controls monitoring and reporting, including exceptions monitoring, controls testing, monthly KPI reporting and escalation of key issues to the Underwriting Committee. Oversee key underwriting governance and regulatory processes The Ideal Candidate Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience within Lloyd’s or the London Market, ideally across underwriting controls, operations, risk or compliance. Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s regulatory requirements, including the Lloyd’s Oversight Principles and underwriting controls frameworks. Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver to tight deadlines. Strong analytical and technical skills, including experience of underwriting controls, exceptions reporting and pre-bind quality assurance, with good proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. CII Advanced Diploma or ACII preferred.
