Property Underwriter (18 Month FTC)
We’re working with a leading London Market insurer looking to hire a Delegated Property Underwriter into their high-performing team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Underwriter with Canadian and US Delegated Property experience to take ownership of a portfolio and work closely with Brokers, Coverholders and key clients.
Core responsibilities:
• Underwrite Canadian and US Delegated Property business within agreed underwriting authorities.
• Analyse and assess renewal contracts, including risk selection, pricing, wordings and coverage.
• Prepare Peer Review submissions incorporating pricing model and RMS output.
• Lead and support renewal discussions with Brokers and Coverholders.
• Monitor portfolio performance, including rate movements, CAT loads and EPI.
• Support the delivery of planned premium, business mix and underwriting profitability.
• Maintain strong relationships with Brokers, Coverholders, insureds and distribution partners.
• Contribute to portfolio management, risk selection and underwriting strategy.
The successful candidate will have:
• · Experience underwriting Canadian and/or US Delegated Property / Binder business.
• · Strong technical knowledge of Property wordings, coverage and risk factors.
• · Experience managing and owning a Delegated Property portfolio.
• · Strong analytical skills and understanding of RMS output.
• · Strong Broker and Coverholder relationship management skills.
