We are currently working alongside a global insurance organisation to recruit an Investment Accountant to join their Finance team on a maternity cover. The role focuses on accounting for investment portfolios, maintaining financial ledgers, preparing investment-related reporting, and supporting regulatory and management reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities - Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly investment reporting and analysis. - Record investment portfolio transactions and post investment-related journal entries to the general ledger. - Produce investment-related reporting for regulatory, statutory, and management purposes. - Prepare monthly investment performance reports and quarterly investment board packs. - Analyse investment and hedging performance. - Complete monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations relating to investment accounts. - Support the preparation of financial statements for entities with investment portfolios. - Collaborate with finance, actuarial, and senior stakeholders across the business. - Contribute to ad hoc projects, data requests, and process improvements. - Ensure reporting is delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines. Must-Haves - Experience in investment accounting, financial reporting or a similar finance role, ideally within insurance or financial services. - Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems (e.g. SAP), with the ability to analyse financial data and meet reporting deadlines.
