New opportunity that sits within the London Market Finance and MI team which is part of the broader Finance function. The involves team supporting of the London Market business and the broader company understand of the financial performance of the business and drive strategic decision making as a consequence. The role also includes working within the core finance team helping to deliver business insights to the divisional directors, the underwriters, the London Market Leadership Team and the wider Group. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: • You will provide comprehensive insight into the actual performance and leading indicators that drive performance of the business • Thoroughly understand the numbers and the business delivering those numbers • Build relationships with the underwriting teams to become a trusted partner • Preparing presentations to the London Market Leadership Team (LMLT) as and when required • Supporting the underwriting team with insight into their lines and ad hoc analyses • Providing commentary and insight on monthly results against prior year and plan • Assist in the planning and forecasting process to help deliver a credible plan, fully evaluated and supported by the business, Group and Lloyd’s Qualifications & Experience: • An experienced financial professional either with or working towards an accountancy qualification • Clear vision of where and how finance adds value to a business. Intuitive sense for good commercial decisions; seen equally as a business person and a finance professional • An enquiring mind to fully get under the skin of the numbers and question why the numbers look as they do, to fully understand what is driving performance? • Strong analytical skills that enable you to present back in a cogent manner what is driving performance • Credibility and gravitas to gain the respect and trust of stakeholders • An open and collaborative style with the ability to translate complex subject matter expertise to key stakeholders with clarity • Ability to communicate both written and orally in a clear and concise way • The role does not have any direct reports but can draw on the broader finance and insight community for MI and analysis Stakeholder management skills will therefore be key but also a willingness to develop into the detail will be required
